A few birds; All shot with Tcon-17. Resized /sharpened. I note some color cast in the frame edges; Does anyone know if a lenshood can fix that?

Some 'other' birds
#1 shot with tcon-17, resized & sharpened only. You can see how the IS can works it's way into causing little vignetting (the dark corner). 1/450s f/5.6 ISO200 126mm #2 shot cropped top & bottom off to 16:9, applied some noise reduction (sky only), resized & sharpened. Heat distortion is present, but within acceptable limits (for me). 1/320s f/5.6 ISO400 126mm (no tcon). #3 shot cropped for best frame, noise reduced (sky only) resized & sharpened. The panning worked pretty well on that one, and wasn't taken out of a burst ![]() 1/85s f/5.6 ISO400 98.4mm (no tcon) #4 Well after sunset. Cropped top & bottom off to get 16:9, resized & sharpened. Again a little fuzziness remains. 1/28s f/5.6 ISO800 12.7mm Panning large objects at a fairly wide angle can cause fuzziness at the objects sides, because they're moving faster in the frame than the middle part. But that becomes more of an issue when the object really fills the frame side to side. Happy Shooting! GB |

Both fine series, GB! I don't know if a lens hood would take care of that or if it's caused by the TCON.

Thanks!
The HS10 is such a brilliant cam; I like it more every day ![]() I bought the sony HX5v for lightweight photo/video travel purposes, but I'm afraid I'll find myself dragging the HS10 up the mountains too, this summer ![]() |

Found a mosquito sitting on the window; screwed the hoya +4 macrolens on, an tried a few shots. Here are two, both cropped -approx 80 and 60%- and edited to some extend.
the creature is about 7mm in length Happy Shooting! GB |

Also, with film I find that more careful and thought out process was considered before just rapid firing away that one can do with digital. The keeper rate with digital is still quite low. |

I also use a lowe pro bag, an old one that just fits the camera, and has a little outside zip pocket that holds batteries, lens wipes, etc. I use it for getting to/from and while in the house - too much dog hair around here!
I wanted to say THANKS for the assistance, too - firmware update made a BIG diff. for me. ![]() Some pix of the soccer I get to go to: Thursday practice. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Love pics of children smiling and at play. Oh, how I long for those days. I am glad and fortunate to have had such a childhood and growing up in Hawai'i no less.
