Have Fuji Finepix S602Z. I use Fuji 128 Mb & 256Mb Compact Flash Card. The camera locks up after playback of a about 20 pictures , sometimes less. Sometimes the only way to start again is to disconnect the batteries! Is this a known limitation of in-camera playback from a card holding up to 200 images or is it a genuine camera fault which I need to get repaired:?:
I hope somebody can help. Cheers Jules |

Read the Fuji manual carefully, there is no camera fault! You may have a CF slot which accepts the media, but there are compatibility issues discussed many times on this Forum related to the speed and type of architecture used in CF cards.
If you're really serious about movie (and you have to be to handle those big M-JPEGS) then it's either cheapest 128Mb SM from any vendor, or microdrive. Don't be put off. It's not a moviecam - just a great stills cam! |

Hello Jules.
I'm afraid I cant help at present, but wanted to check this: You are reffering to still pics, not movie mode? Yes? Just checking that I do understand you correctly. Regards, J2 |

Jules52/J2D2, I apologise if I misread your post. However, CF speed and compatibility has been a much debated issue. Have you tried movie mode (which is also replaying pics). The usual problem is freezes or jerky pics after about 20 seconds recordings.
Are you previewing the biggest still pic. file sizes e.g TIFF or 6Mpix from your cards in the 602? That might also cause similar buffer/write speed problems. |
