I have just purchased a Fuji S5700/S700 and have a problem with it when it is set in the Aperture Priority mode.In this mode (A) if I take pictures in bright sunlight with aperture and shutter speed set to reasonable values the flash ALWAYS pops up and fires. The only way I can stop the flash from firing is to set the flash mode to suppressed.

That is how the firmware is setup for the S-5700/S-700. I just turn off the flash before beginning and it works well.

Thank you for your reply. It seems a very strange, and irritating, feature to design into the camera.
