On my finepix S8000fd the pop-up flash never charge wen I open it.
Opening the pou-up, the indicator lamp always blink orange for 1-2 seconds and the flash never shoots. I've tried every setting or option and different tipes of batteries without solve the trouble. |

Hi Enrico,
Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your camera problem. Is this a new camera? Did the flash ever work? When you pre-focus, does the Flash Icon appear in the viewfinder? Can you post a picture to this website in which you tried to take a flash pic and the flash failed to fire? the Hun |

the camera is 5 months old and the flash worked properly in some conditions I can't remeber. The flash icon appears on the display when I open the pop-up.This below is the display appearance in manual mode when I try to take shots with the flash; is a photoshop collage but it's exactly what i see.

Nice job on the LCD Enrico! It seems like the flash should be firing in that setup. Do me a favor - post a picture that you've taken in which the flash has failed to fire. I'd be curious to see what the EXIF data is saying about the flash.

According to the EXIF data in your picture, your flash fired...are you sure it didn't?
I tried to duplicate all of your settings on my S6000, and when I did, my flash fired. One thing I did see in your EXIF was: 'Auto Exposure Warning = Over exposure (>1/1000s,F11)' I didn't get that on mine. Mine said: 'Auto Exposure Warning = Auto Exposure Good' I'm not even sure I understand the warning you got. Maybe it reduced your flash output to the point you didn't notice it? You already had your flash strength reduced: 'Flash Strength = -67/100' I guess, if your camera said it fired the flash, and the flash didn't fire, then your flash must be defective. Since your camera is only 5 months old, it should still be covered under the warranty. Good luck, and let us know how you make out. Happy New Year. the Hun |

I think the overexposure warning appears on my camera because it could be if the flash fire.

Yeah, but mine didn't, and I had it set on forced flash, just like you.
There must be something else I missed. the Hun |
