Thanks for the review, I really love the camera a lot. I've had the camera only two months and I still haven't had the chance to use many of the special modes. I would have added in the review to use "P" (program) mode for flash shots as the "auto" mode presets the ISO at 800, in "P" mode you can manually adjust it which results in better looking shots.

In your review of the S8000fd the features include areference to RAW file format:
Here's a copy of the reference from your review: FinePix S8000fd Zoom Features:
I have had the camera now for 2 months but the only supported file format I find is JPG and I can find no reference to RAW file format in the owners manual. Does this camera support RAW file format and if so how is it accessed? Colorado Ice |

Exilmo wrote:No, I have both cameras and they are two different cameras. Besides the super long zoom on the s8000 (18x) it also has fd (face detection) and the ISO goes up to 6400 (which is stupid really) and you can't shoot movies while your zooming in and out. They're work good together as a team in my book.I believe the s800 is replacing the s700 which is the same as the s700 with one extra megapixel as the only difference I believe.

No, I don't believe that the Fuji S-8000 has Raw. The S-6000 has raw. However, I don't personally consider the lack of raw on the S-8000 as a disqualifying issue.
For me a camera should be fun and it should be good at recording life. I think that the Fuji S-8000 fits into that category at least for me. So based on what I have managed to read, looking at the images over in www.pbase, and the economy of the camera right now. The $50 rebate good until 03/31 was attractive. I ordered the camera. I will post some photos whenit arrives at the end of next week. Sarah Joyce |
