Default Got a few questions about finepix 3800

If I switched to manual mode, then switched the aperture to f2.8, then zoomed to 5x or 6x. What happens to the original aperture?
Does the original aperture take priorty over the zoom?

By the way does anyone know where i can find a bag in new york, perferably in manhattan that sells a camera bag that will fit this camera?

If you manually set f/2.8, you would get whatever the equivalent maximum aperture was at the zoom setting you chose. There's not much difference in the 2800/3800 between full wide and full tele. I think it just drops about 1/2 f/stop at full tele. The shutter speed would then slow by the equivalent, say from 1/200 to 1/150 (1/100 would be set if it were a full f/stop). In smaller cameras, I've seen two f/stops or more difference.
