So far I don't think so...Here are a few shots taken with my old camera, the S100fs.

s100fs is better than the hs10. Slightly better than the s200exr in some ways. hs10 excels in extra features but that's it.

I can't seem to get the clarity with the HS 10 that I get with the S100fs...
S100.. ![]() HS 10...I really hate the color! ![]() |

its a smaller sensor so your "clarity" won't happen.

Both cameras are very capable. Those s100fs shots are a bit oversharpened, at least for the size displayed here, but I also like that crisp look and often oversharpen my S200 photos.
As far as color, ducks on water can be tricky... you often get serious color reflection that makes the white balance appear off. Like this loon shot that made the water look green, which it clearly is not. It is reflecting the shore line trees that cause the green effect in this case: S2IS ![]() S200exr Ducks (same lens as S100fs) ![]() Last edited by OnTheWeb; Sep 29, 2010 at 12:51 PM. |

Well I'm heading out with both cameras today, and will shoot the same shots with similar settings and focal length with each camera...We shall see...
I suspect that each camera has it's strong points... |

Well, I'm a happier camper today...I seem to have that color problem solved...I fine tuned the white balance as far to the red and yellow as it would go...
S100fs ![]() HS 10...It actually looks more natural than the S100 now. ![]() Note to self...Remember the frackin' tripod... This eagle was at max zoom, and the photo is cropped. ![]() |
