hello guys

greetings. please if someone could help me. i have been trying to take macro shots from the last one week and it does not seem to work. i have tried everything. read the manual , searched the net ..... nothing. i am using a fuji finepix s5500. i do not have any macro lense nothing attached to my camera. it only has a sklight. the closest that i am able to take is also too far. as per the mannual it says that i can take a shot from a minimum of 10 cms. i tried taking shouts from more than 25cms. using them in wide angle. till now i saw some shots taken by the fuji s5500 at the following site http://www.cameras.co.uk/html/sample-images-4.cfmand this pissed me even more. i feel i have wasted my money . i bought the camera from pixmania.co.uk. i think i will have to send it back to them if this is not solved.

following things to remember.

1. the camera is on. 2. its been set to macro mode. 3. set to auto 4. lense cap removed. 5. batteries are charged.

thanks a lot in advance. waiting for a reply immediately .......also attached is a pic of the closest that i can get.

Allan .

I don't see any pic attached to your post, so I can't tell what your problem is. What happens if you take a shot from, say 25 cm? Is the picture blurry? Is it totally black? What happens?

Welcome to Ward 8 of the forum!

I guess my age is showing 'cause I don't see a picture either.

If the flower is showing (EVF/LCD) in the upper left and you've rocked the Zoom switch all the way on "W", you should be able to focus on objects at 10cm. Since we can't determine what you mean by "doesn't seem to work", we'll have to wait for a sample picture.
