Default S7000 MAX MEMORY

Hi all and happy holidays.

I am planning to buy more memory for my S7000 and considering the IBM/Hitachi Microdrives.

What is the biggest memory or microdrive that I can use with my S7000? 512MB / 1GB / 2GB ???

Any good or bad comments about the microdrive and the S7000?

What about battery/power consumption?

You can use up to the 2.2GB Microdrive in the S7000. Unless you are capturing video or doing a lot of sequential shooting, the power consumption of the Microdrive isn't that different from a CF or xD memory card. You will get less battery runtime but it isn't what I would call radically less. Mcrodrives are only "spun up" during read or write operations, otherwise they use no power.

Yes, the power difference might become more noticeable shooting uncompressed with long writes or Movie. JPEG stills should be O.K Another school of thought says that Compact Flash needs more erase cycle time - so MD is not all bad news. VOX
