If i want to take photos off small insects roughly the size of ants will the DCR-250 be enough?

I'm just a little confused as i hear of people stacking it withdcr 150 , +6 + 4 + 2 etc.

any help would be appreciated.

Hi. I'm new to photography, but I'llexplainwhat I can.I'd never use a DCR-250 before, but am using a +4 filter. DCR-250 should be a >+5. +2 - +10 are the power of diopters. The higher the diopter, the more powerful the magnification is.

The different from normal +x filter and Raynox DCR-250 is you get better DOF (Depth of Focus) with Raynox:-)

If you have budget go for Raynox if not a +x filter is sufficient.

You can refer to my album http://photos.okok.info Most shots there are taken with Hoya +4 filter. Hope these will help you.
