Brand new S5200. Can't wait to use it. Lots of "warnings" that I should install the software prior to plugging the camera into my desktop. (Probably enough said already)

I am curious however. Do I really have to install the Fuji software. When I shifted my Canon to this computer (running Windows XP service pack 2) with Photoshop Elements 3, Photoshop simply identified the new hardware (in camera) and added the pictures to its folder.

I'd like to get away from loading the Fuji software if I can since I don't need it to view or edit pictures.

Any comments/suggestions always appreciated.

There is no software that was included with your camera that is required to enable you to download the images from your camera. I don't like the Fuji Finepix Viewer. And the raw converter they give you is a joke. I haven't installed software for either my S5100 or my S9000. Windows XP will recognize your camera without the necessity of installing any drivers.
