Hi Guys,
Today I got my new DCR-250 lens. I tried mounting that on my HS10 and take some macro pics. I am having problems in focusing the pics. Whenever I try to take a pic, it is very blurry. Not sure what is the problem ? Could you help me out pls. |

I Google DCR2560 Blurry and some thread came up about making sure you set the apature correctly and getting the right focal length. Not sure though as most of it goes over my head. Sure some of the fellow forum users can offer a better answer. Most live in the States so it's like 6am over there at the mo.

It has a very shallow depth of field. you have to move the camera back/forth to the correct distance to get a sharp shot. The camera can fine-tune it but yo need to be pretty accurate about your distance to the subject first.

I tried your AutoHDR and I find it impressive and very fun to use.
Great work, Martin. |

Zoom out (i.e. use telephoto not wide-angle), set the camera on manual focus and move it backwards and forwards very slightly/slowly to focus it - keeping it very steady. I assume that the HS10 has the same magnification feature that the S9500 has and this can help with the focusing but it isn't easy. Take lots of shots and you may get a few that are good. Good luck.

I use the lens a lot while taking shots of my wife's work. This glass bead is about 20mm tall (in total). This is just @ 10mm of it.
![]() As you can see, the whole bead is not in focus, and remember, this is a very small bead. That should give you an idea as to this lens DOF. You can not use this lens without support. The slightest movement will blur the subject. Fact is, I use the timer, as I can't even trip it without some degrading. |
