Hi,
I wanted to buy a FUJIFILM FinePix F500EXR or F500EXR but then the sample videos I saw, were so shocking! Has someone here made better videos...? (original MOVs since YouTube reduces quality by up to 65%) The videos of the Sony DSC-TX100V are much better I think. Thanks! Last edited by Macbeth; Apr 10, 2011 at 10:53 PM. |

My thought was, that the people who made these bad Fuji sample
videos did something wrong and that the video mode is actually better. - I don't need recording during zooming. - I don't need extreme zoom without tripod. Please take a look at these 1080/30p sample videos: (unfortunately only available via YouTube, but you'll see what I mean) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aD9vJASlXxs (this looks really terrible - as if uploaded by a competitor...) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocgSB_9Gmdc (not an easy object and no good light) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_n1j753gI60 (not bad, but somehow too bright... maybe editing software?) There are better sample videos from the HS20EXR, which uses the same sensor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cQhWsuXmT8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sb5kLxaqSS4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDT8dJluonk Could some one please upload a few *good* native sample videos from the F500EXR or F550EXR or F505EXR? Would be so helpful! I *LIKE* the FUJI camera much more than the SONY TX100V but after seeing these videos it's not easy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xINxr19qb8k http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEVmPdEwi_w http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvYGoSmXEjE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBbWUQf-DYE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVn2-KnUpIc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7XQf0M1-e4 ![]() ![]() Thanks! |

I think if you prefer video get the Sony but if you prefer still images get the Fuji, just my 10 pence worth.

The Fujifilm is a STILL camera. It's main function is STILL photography. Would you expect a garage mechanic to do the job of a nuclear physicist?

I would say the Fuji generally take better still photographs where the Sony will definitely do a better job with video. I have a little Sony DSC H20 which I generally use for video which is good fun but for my photography I either use my Nikon D300, Fuji S3 Pro or Fuji S1600. If you go with Sony you'll still get some excellent captures I'm pretty sure from still photography so as I mentioned, if video is your prime concern, go for the sony. If video is secondary on your agenda, I would go Fuji, again; just my 10 pence worth for what it's worth ![]() Howie |

Thanks Howie for your comment. I understand, but because I see a real chance
that the F500EXR video quality might be good enough for me, I would still appreciate some native videos to check out (so that I could convince myself). Thanks if anyone here could help with that. Or are there "official" sample movies I don't know of...? |
