ok i know Nikon SB-80DX is the best thing...but is 450€ tax included
Is there anything (also of other brands) that is similar to sb-80 dx, and is more cheap? It's not important that is powerful as much as 80dx..i can be satisfied... main point: i want a flash that use the same ni-mh batteries of s2pro. (such as 1850 mma) >Can anyone confirm me that sb-80dx use the same batteries of s2 pro (ni-mh)? How many of them? If yes I can buy 3/4 set of 4xni-mh 1850 mma and a very fast charger. 2 set for the digicam (no Cr123 at this point i don't need internal flash and alla the rest work correctly, isn't it?) 1/2 set for the flash What is your esxperience? or sb 80 dx is so good and usable for many...many time from now? thanks to all ciao Luca |

Check out the Sunpak line of flash units. I use their AF4000Z. It runs fine on NiMH batteries, saves the CR123's, and is reasonably powerful. They also have a newer (bigger) AF5000Z.
They come with the dedicated Nikon foot and work properly with the S2. Declan |

I'm using my Nikon SB-28 with my Fuji S2. No need to use a dedicated DX flash for the Fuji as it's different. TTL works great.
Yes, you can use any TTL flash with the S2. |

A good used SB-28 (non DX) will do great, Should be able to find them for about half what a new SB-80DX runs. The 80 was the replacement for the 28, and I have been told that the SB-26 also is very close to the 28 and also works very well on the S2.
The 80, 28 and 26 all use AA batteries. |

I have both SB26 and SB28D (not DX), both bought used online and they both work well. I personally need help with flash compensation, but that's another thread. I also use a Quantum Battery 1+ to power both my S2 and SB2x and am VERY pleased with that setup.
