how do i check the shutter count on an S2?

what is considered normal use a year on these cameras?

I don't know of a way to check shutter actuations (which doesn't mean there is not a way to do it). I'm confident Fuji probably knows how (it's likely to be stored in EEPROM somwhere).

But, I'm not aware of anyone that's found this info anywhere in metadata from files generated by the S2.
