First of all, I am just now making the leap from Nikon to Fujifilm dSLR. I am currently using a Nikon F80 (N80 in the US) and FM2 camera. I love the feel and the handling of the F80 and I am really looking forwarde to a dSLR with much of the same control as the F80. I am strongly considering the S2 because of its design and weight. I was wondering if there are any bad things I should expect from the S2 as compared to the S3. Also, is the S3 better image-quality wise than the S2?

Does either of those tw meter with Ai/AIS lenses? That would be nice but not necessarily a deal breaker.

Thanks for your help.

If you can afford the S3 (& lenses), why would you want an inferior camera?

OK, it has finally come down to this.

What I'm very interested in is dynamic range. I read on a couple of sites that the S3 has a very good dynamic range and that the only way to separate a S2 image from a S3 one is dynamic range.

Now, if someone could help in setting things straight for me on just how much of a difference we're talking about here between the two cameras. I am refering to 6.1MP images.

The thing is that the S3 is almost twice as expensive. Is that difference between the two really worth that.

And, also, do you guys think that prices of the S3/S2 will drop after the S5 is released?
