Hello, I am amateur photograper (taken a few classes at the Univ) hoping for some feedback. While up in Whistler Canada I accidentally killed my Minolta DSLR, so I sold my lenses and decided to step up to a new system. Either Canon or Nikon so i started looking around.

Turns out a friend/co-worker who is into photography offered to sell me his Fuji S3 Pro for $850 with a Sigma 28-70mm lens (f2.8-4).Camera looks used but overall seems to be in decent condition. I only really shoot Architecture/Buildings, Landscapes, and People. I dont shoot sports. Slow and Steady shooter i am i guess. Is this a good deal nowadays for a Fuji? Can anyone tell me how it compares to the newer cameras like the D80 or the D200? Would I be better off saving more money and upgrading to a newer camera like the D80 or D200?

The camera seems to work fine as he took a few shots and we viewed it on his Laptop. I just wondering since I know the S3 is a few years old and the S5 is out. I am going to be taking more classes with studio photography so my coworker said the S3 would be good for that.

Thanks I appreciate any feedback.
