Hello again. Concerning my PF problem and other image issues as stated in previous posts. Today I got a new S5200 from Sears who honoured its 30 day no hassle money back guarantee. The new cam produces less PF and delivers crisper pictures. To my taste anyway. Let's say, it's very acceptable and easily removable in Pshop without destroying the picture. But I noticed -yes I'm scrutating the little beast- a strange grinding or rumbling noise when the camera is focusing. It's set on S-AF. The noise is a bit more audible than the first S5200. For now, I would like to know if it's an important issue. Hope it is not. I'm tired of being the unsatisfied customer...Many thanks again. Germain.*

I don't have a 5200 like you do, but I have a 5100 and a 9000. Both of them make a little noise similar to what you describe. I don't think it is anything to worry about, it's just the way the focusing system works. Why didn't you hear it in the other camera? You have to remember that you have a consumer-level that is assembled on a production line. There's going to be a little variation from one unit to another. I'm not putting your camera down, my models are at the same level of quality production as yours.
