Hi,
Can anybody confirm the "spot" on the picture is likely to be dust and not a failure ? When I zoom into a subject the "spot" disappears.

I was told that it is likely to be dust but Fuji would want £130 to clean the camera. Is there anybody / shop in the Manchester UK area known to any members who assuming it is dust could clean the camera out ?

Thanks for looking

John

Hi John,

This is almost certainly dust. There's a guy in the Fuji forum on dpreview called jkirk (aka the captain) who has a web site dedicated to the repair/dis-assembly etc of Fuji S602 cameras. I would take a look here:

http://www.digsys.com.au/s602/s602.html

There are detailed instructions on how to
  • blow the dust out [/*]
  • suck the dust out [/*]
  • disassemble the camera & clean it out. [/*]
I only home mine doesn't get affected this way . . . .

Good luck,

Jim
