If you have an older camera from Fuji that takes the XD type media card, M type may not work. On some models, you will need to have a firmware upgrade to accept the type M cards. There are some older models that the type M will never work, so stock up on non-type M now while the prices are low.

You will receive an error message if the M card does not work. Do not think it is the camera until you try a regular XD card.

What do you mean by "regular" xD card?

I thought there were only two types of xD: Type M and Type H, and I thought Type H was the newer/faster one. But that doesn't make sense if Type M doesn't work on old cameras, because I tought Type M was the only type there was until they made Type H.

So obviously I'm confused about something.

The type M and H cards are relatively new. I think both types have been introduced within the last year. xD cards that are older than that have no type designation, and I think those are the cards that are being referred to.

Yes, that is it. The regular type just say " 128 mb" the type M will say " M 128 mb".
