I was reading the specs on the new s5700 and it appears there is no raw setting. Can anyone tell me if this right. The 5600 had it. Bought my son a 5600 for xmas but it was stolen so am looking at getting the new 5700 for him. Price is going to be about the same. Thanks Keith

The S5700 is NOT a replacement for the S5600, the 5700 is more like a replacement for the old S3xxx entry level super zoom, minmal feature set, etc. So no RAW.

Thanks for that Clyde. Looking at the specs of both the 5600[5200] and the 5700. the 5700 looks like its a better camera even without the raw. Had trouble finding the full specs but stumbled across them somewhere in Fuji .com. Keith

As I have come to appreciate what is possible with Fuji's Super CCD in it's different incarnations, I would not be interested in the S5700 (S700 US) as it is a conventional CCD (I think Sony) and not Fuji's Super CCD. And that might be fine for many people, just would not interest me.

Also my wife and son will get there birthday presents on time and wont have to wait for delivery. 5700 i just saw advertised for $357 AUD for mid april delivery. Birthdays are this weekend and 5600 has dropped to $299 AUD. Should better that getting 2.
