I have had this problem once before indoors. These were taken ouside on an overcast day at 6pm. I tried switching every mode I could. I just took one at home and it is fine again. I was looking forward to some great lacrosse action

According to the EXIF, both of the pics you posted were taken in the Sports Scene Mode and Continuous Shooting was on. Was the pic you took at home taken in the same modes? I don't think that has anything to do with the poor results you experienced on the lacrosse field. Unfortunately, that looks like a sensor problem. Is the camera still under warranty? You may need to seek professional help for this.

Good luck. Let us know how you make out.

I took it back to the shop where I bought it. He said the iris was staying open. I was going to be frustrated to have to send it for repair because I would miss my daughters first lacrosse season so I asked about a loner. Better than that he swapped it out for a new one! I love The Camera Shop in Lansing Michigan

Now that's customer service! Glad to hear you're back in business. Post a pic of your daughter that we can all see if you get a chance.
