Default Price drop s602

Anyone see any good deals on the fuji s602? So far - $485 is about the best I've seen from smartshopper.

Should I wait - how long before we see a bigger drop if that much at all?

Need the camera by September....special event.

I found one for $480 in http://shopping.yahoo.com/.

I've been looking for several weeks now and haven't seen any prices drop.

I'm guessing the prices aren't dropping until the s7000 comes out.

I did find an awesome deal on the s5000 if you don't live in texas:

I looked today and all the prices have gone UP!

The one I found for $480 is now $514.99!

However I found one for $439. It is refurbished however with a 90 day warranty.

BTW, what is smartshopper? Can you give a link to where they show s602 prices?

not sure what a smart shopper is. If it has to do with E Bay I never used them and a bit afraid to.

I'm going to pass on the 602, Sounds like a great camera but again no AF. All the reviews and all the forums say with out AF and manual focus any camera is almost useless in low lor no light. don't understand why camera manufacturers don't get the message. I like the finepix 5000 and the new HP945

You can always attach your own LED light onto it Seriously though people actually have done that.

I assume by AF you mean AF low light assist?

I just ordered one yesterday so I will let you know how the AF is when I get it. My friend has one and you can zoom the LCD while focus to help you out. Personally I don't plan on taking low light shots. They always turned out so-so on my old camera so I pretty much gave up on trying.

I also read some where about using an outside light source. Somethings wrong with the picture of buying a $600 -$700 camera and then duct tapeing a flash light to it

Checked out the OLY 740 today nice size and has gotten good reviews for correcting color problems that were with the 700. The HP is a big camera with a large diameter lense, definately not a pocket camera

Good luck and thanks for corresponding

Default S602 on ubid

Just bought an S602 on ubid.com. They have auctioned off several lots of 12 - 20 cameras, usually for $400 - 450 each. These are factory refurb units, with a one-year warranty from Fujifilm.

The current auction is for 6 cameras, current low bid (for one!) is $330, high is $389.

These are complete retail packages. I couldn't find a flaw of any kind on mine.

After one day of reading the manual and playing, I am about ready to start some serious testing and training activities.
