Anyway, was playing a little today. I was having a hard time getting anything except auto to work right. It seems the more I read the manuals and books the worse I get. So I shot a picture getting ready for the Daytona 500 next month (hope it is bright and sunny).

Speaking of monopods... I ordered this one and was purely impressed!
It's a combo all aluminum walking cane/hiking stick/monopod all in one.
Check it out.. $19.97

I pointd my S700 at the bird, zoomed in a bit and pushed the shutter. I only shoot in manual. I also have a bird feeder on my balcony so the bird is only about 4 feet from me.

Must be nice to have something interesting to photograph. This time of year in Florida it just looks bland at best. Spring and summer are just around the corner and the colors should be back.

Living in Florida this time of year you can always photograph the old people driving 10 miles an hour snarling up traffic. :G

You only shoot in manual, so you change the aperature and shutter speed mainly, what kinda whiteness compensation?,

did you need a tripod, because my hands are too shaky and everything I tried to take to post is blurry... and ugly...
