Hi all new member here, been lurking on/off for about a month, i forget how i originally got to this thread but it was searching for something related to the s700 on google, i've done quite+ a bit of digging on google and this is definitely the best thread i've found.

I've been pretty happy with the s700. I'd have to say one of the most remarkable things about it is the battery life. I bought a couple sets of energizer 2500mah batteries and i swear i've taken around 500 photos on one charge. I believe i may have went over 500. Using a 1GB Olympus xD. Did the firmware update (1.02?) - which was a PITA but i think added a little battery life.

So, i'm gonna stuff+ some pictures in here over the last couple of months. Including pictures using the 3.2x Opteka telephoto lens.

First shot of the moon w/stock camera/lens

w/3.2x Opteka Lens

converted to grayscale

post processing

2nd set w/Opteka lens, in my opinion these are a hair short of the quality of the previous

Post Processing

This is not quite the best example of the difference between 10x & 10x zoom + 3.2x Lens, but its the best i have online at the moment

Stock no zoom

10x Zoom no lens

10x Zoom + Opteka 3.2x Post Processed

More examples stock no zoom vs full zoom + lens

Set 1

Set 2 (scroll right)

Set 3

I *think* that about wraps it up i might edit this post &/or add a couple more later

Edit: For those that aren't aware (because i wasn't originally & had difficulty finding out) - The front filter/threads on the s700 is 46mm & the front filter threads on the Opteka 3.2x is 67mm - Opteka offers (+/-a set of) filters @ 67mm (which aren't too bad) but not @ 46mm, i've used a few 46's ordered off ebay/amazon. Honestly the glass/quality on the Opteka 67's isn't all that bad i wish they had 46's. I'm a bit undecided on my preference of brand/type of 'every day' (outdoor) filter @ 46, not gonna give pref at the moment.
