I had the S7000 for about 15 months till it was stolen. It's a good camera. However, I think he S6500 is better. First more zoom range (all the way from a wide angle of 28 mm to a telephoto of 300 versus the 7000's 35 mm to 210). Second, it has a manual zoom ring. Third, it is much, much better in low light.

If you want, you can get a step down ring (58mm to 55mm) to use your teleconverter.

There's a 50 buck rebate on the S6000 in the US till tomorrow.

Good luck! Both are good cameras, but I think the S6000fd is better.

Hi!

I agree s6500 is better than s7000 but you can't get that nice DR like s7000... But if you use *raf (RAW) with ex. Adobe Lightroom you can get brillant results :-)

You can see my macros with s6500 here: http://fttsniper.myjalbum.net/FttSniper/

Now see a few s6500 pics :

1. color : Fuji CHROME

2. Night scenes

3. Macros with DCR-250

4. really Low light conditions ... jpg from cam iso 1600, f=2,8 1/20s + Noiseware

Enjoy :?

Best regards
