In late 2007 I called Fuji to complain that my OUT OF WARRANTY Fuji E550 that suffered the common lens alignment failure. I was annoyed since this camera was pristine with a low shutter count and was only used as a back up when my dSLR gear was not practical. I didn't have high expectations as my camera was purchased in 2005, but I wanted to see if they'd repair this fine camera for little or no cost since that problem plagued so many other E550 owners.

They did better than that, they sent me a new-in-box E900.

Good move Fuji. Because of what I do, I get asked OFTEN what camera to purchase. For several years, Fuji has been the answer in the "point and shoot" segment. Since this has happened Fuji has sold more cameras based on my testimony regarding this situation.

I felt obligated to post this message since most of us are prompted to post when we want to complain. IMO, Fuji showed some old-fashioned "lets make it right" attitude when they could have told me "Sorry, you're out of luck."

they replaced my way out of warranty s7000 with a like new ?refurbished?

then sent me 2 battery compartment doors for $17 after i banged it
