Hi,

I've got a few extra Sandisk Extreme III 4gb SDHC cards that I'd like to give as xmas giftsto a relative who has an F45fd (Ritz Camera's version of the F40fd), but obviously I won't bother if the camera won't accept SDHC cards. The reviews say it has dual XD and SD memory card slots, but do not mention SD vs. SDHC with this camera. Could someone please let me know if this camera will take a 4gb SDHC card?

Thanks.

According to Fuji, the F40fd will take SDHC, after a firmware upgrade...

It doesn't mention the F45fd (Ritz Camera's gray market version?)

Merry Christmas and thanks for the response!

The F45fd is an F40fd that Ritz commissioned/obtained as a liquidation item, etc.... with a darker, metallic charcoal body. It comes with a standard Fujifilm factory warranty, so it isn't gray market. With rebate, it was $106, so given the more attractive body color and the very attractive price, it wasn't a hard decision to go with the Ritz version instead of the F40fd.

Here's the link to the actual page that has the F40fd/F45fd firmware download:

Merry Christmas Stan - you're welcome.

I never knew there was a F45fd model. Ritz must have bought a lot of them to get their own model number!

up to 16Gb wo problem[testd on 40 and 47(w upgrade, of course].
but i dont test new class 6 133x and 150x unstandart SDHD and some.
so best practice is try or ask about EXACT card models. in general, Kingston, Transcend - fine. Sundisk without fault too, but little available in RU.

p.s.
and yes, there also plenty of models, like 47[mine] and 48, 49, sold in Europe.
also i heard gossips about upcoming F60 variations.
