Default RAW files on S3000

Hey...I'm a Fujifilm newbe. I recently purchased a S3000. I love it, except that I cannot figure out how to disable "creation" of the .raw files on the flash cards. When using a 128MB flash card I am only able to get about 20-30 pics (only 2-3 pics on a 16MB :-< ) because the .raw file is saved and takes up all the space of the flash. Also erasing pics does not remove the .raw files. The only way to get rid of the .raw files is to format the flash card. I have looked all through the manual and I cannot see any reference regarding .raw files.
Any help would be greatly appericated!!!
Thanks...blacklab...

Go to any shooting mode, then go to the menu, then go to the second page of the menu. There's an option there that can be set On or Off.

Thanks...but I still an not seeing it.

I am in "auto" shooting mode. From the menu, I have three screens:
Quality - The options are 0.3M, 1M, 2M or 3M. No other on/off settings.
Self Timer - An on/off option
Option - Which has "Setup" sub-menu. Setup has options for "Image Disp", "Power Save", "Format" (to format the flash), "Beep" "Date/Time", "USB Mode", "Language", "Video System", "Reset".

Am I missing something or do I need a firmware upgrade???

I sent a question to Fuji tech support regarding disabling RAW files on a S3000. Here is their response:

"Please be advised the FinePix S3000 digital camera does not have to capability
to take "RAW" images. With the 16MB xD Picture Card at the 0.3M setting you
should be able to take 122 images. Based on the information provided in your
email there may be some data on the media which is preventing you from taking
the standard number of images. At this time we suggest to format the xD Picture
Card to return the media to its original condition."

Of course I have formated the cards several times. After each format the card will be empty. As soon as I take one pic two files will appear on the card. One ".jpg" and one ".raw" . There is no doubt that the S3000 is creating RAW files.
