Default Sharpness and detail?? Oh yea...!!!!!!!!!

Below the 800x600 on the left side is a link to the original, untouched capture complete with EXIF. If you have the bandwidth to load a 1.7x jpg, click on it for a real surprise.

Absolutely impressive sharpness and detail from this S7000 (6.3 megapixel) image captured today on full automatic. ISO 200, indoors and did I say detail????? Color and tonality almost perfect as I saw the image - hell, I'm impressed and I don't impress easily!

i'm impressed too. the s7000 is a real 6 megapixels. makes a big difference over an interpolated file as in the s602z.

Sorry, but I live 60 miles from the nearest "city" where I could do that. :-)

Default OK

OK, make a shot from a long (> 100m) distance of a forest or whatever you have there. A large wide-angle pic or normal (without much zoom) and post it, please. Or, better 2 - in 3M and 6M.
I'm thinking in changing my S5000 to S7000 exactly becourse of luck of sharpness and detail.

Me to but I suspect it's just fashion followers, or a must have item, a bit sad really.

Kylak

The word would be "Could you please make a wide angle shot?" We need to be polite when we use the forum. I also do not understand why you want pictures with less than the 6mp that the camera is capable of shooting. You have a nice day and great shooting.

About 3 and 6 MP.
You should read my answer in this tread
http://www.stevesforums.com/phpBB2/v...ic.php?t=15969.
Since SuperCCD can join pixels by 4 (from 12 MP to 3MP), almost like professional matrix, it should gain in more exact colors and bigger dynamic range.
Also 6MP is "unnatural" resolution for SuperCCD 6MP, becourse of it's diagonal sensor array orientation.

And why I like 3MP? Biggest resolution I can afford - is 2048x1456 on 21'' monitor - 3 millions of pixels. And it's enough for 10x15 fotoprint. Why need more? Why need 6MP, if it has same level of details?
I hope one day I will buy SD10 and will be happy.
