Does any know if this camera can use a lens hood as I see Fuji is not including one with this camera which is odd. I know the lens uses 58mm filters any ideas? I know for the shooting I do I would want a lens hood

See this discussion on lens hoods for this camera.

There seems to be some concern regarding vignetting on the long end of the zoom when there are any attachments to the lens.

Hi everybody - I'm new and have read with interest your thread about the new HS10.
I think the pictures from Picasa - the ones with the 800 ISO and a little Zoom are quite
impressive - at least compared to my Pana FZ38 (FZ35) - I'm selling it because it had
a lot of color impurities when the light was not so good - in other words, it was unusable
IMO indoor in low light !

Interesting, so you are not happy with the FZ35 because of color issues. I was considering that camera as my fallback camera in case the HS10 didn't live up-to expectations.

However, in the past week or so, after seeing the variety of samples that have been posted from around the world, I think I will probably go for the HS10.

I must admit, if somebody made a "can-do-all" cam that only had 6-10x and
a F2.0 Lens - then I would be considerable more interested. But such a Cam
has'nt been made yet. So I will also go for the HS10 - can't wait to see some reviews of it.
