hi everyone,

i'm new to photography and decided to try a camera with near dslr features. but i'm stuck between choosing from a fuji hs10 and s200exr.

any suggestion would help a lot.

because i'm not that familiar with photography yet i'm not sure with the features and what would benefit me best.

hope you can help me.. thanks in advance!

@saykie

You can compare those two cameras on the official Fujifilm site, or just google:
HS10 compared to s200exr

You'll see you get a lot of answers to your questions about both cameras

Hey guys I saw you all use a lens hood for the HS10, why do you need something like that, it seems useless to me?

A lens hood helps prevent lens flare from a light source entering the lens from an oblique angle http://toothwalker.org/optics/lenshood.html

Unless you get either a rubber lens hood that you can adjust or carry multiple lens hoods then you are correct, they will be pretty useless.

A lens hood to protect against flare at the long end will give serious vignetting at the wide end, and if you buy a hood to cover the wide end it will be of no use whatsoever at the long end (and most of the focal lengths in between).

My rubber hood ($ 3.39 with shipping) makes with NO camera vignetting.
