And, you know this how?

Still waiting...
Had one on order from mydigiland (373) and I was expecting it today. Instead I got an email saying they'd cancelled the order and given me a refund. I spoke to them and they said the stock had not arrived as expected and, in any case, they'ed been instructed by Fujifilm to return it as soon as it arrived??? I suspect they, like many other suppliers, fell foul of the wrong part number that was given to a lot of dealers, which caused said dealers to order the F70.
I spent a couple of hours today trying to find another and (promises, promises) it should be here in a day or two - right in the middle of the working week!!! The really annoying thing was that mydigitaland offered theirs with a full 3 year warranty whereas the new order is 364 but with only a one year warranty. Sad.

Default Ordered mine.....

I needed to replace my Kodak DX6490 (stolen/lost), so, after watching this forum and other reviews, I decided to order an HS10 last Thursday from B & H Photo (they have had them in stock for over a week), shipped Friday, I'll have it tomorrow.

My camera history has been a Pentax A3000 in the 70's - 90's (got tired of carrying a bag full of stuff); first digital was a Kodak DC280, which was great at the time. I bought the DX6490 when they came out (2002 or 2003 I think) - I really enjoyed it, but it was too bulky/complicated for my wife, so I bought her a Kodak V550 which she loved - until she dropped it about a year and a half ago. I then got her whatever the replacement Kodak was at that time, and neither of us liked it, so back it went. I got her a Cannon SD1100IS that she likes. She wishes she had more zoom, but has trouble holding the camera steady. My DX6490 went missing last month after a boat show (we own a boat dealership). Unfortunately, up here in Downeast Maine, there are not very many places to go look at high end Cameras. In Bangor (about an hour away), there is only one photo shop, they sell only Cannon and Nikon, and do not think anything else matters. The Best Buy had most of the competing "bridge" cameras, except the HS10, and the sales girl knew more, and was more helpful then the camera shop salesgirl, and she did help me narrow the choises down.
So, here I am waiting for my new HS10. Since I have not used an SLR in many years, I have no expectations of SLR-like image quality, but I also am very much out of practice with manual settings (I very rarely had to use any with my DX6490).

I still have two flash units from my Pentax A3000 - a Vivitar 550FD and a Pentax AF200T - will either of these work with the HS10?

I also ordered a set of Pearstone 2900 mAh NiMH Batteries.

That sounds just like me. I'm pretty happy with the pictures I've gotten so far. I've been taking most of my pictures on auto but I try to goof around with the manual ones too so I can familiarize myself again with the options. It's been a good 15 years so it's coming back slowly but surely
