Default Fuji HS10 Who's Ordered.....

Wondering who has pre-ordered the Fuji HS10 and who is going to order one within a month

Also what part number are people using to order a lens hood for the camera, since one is not offered or being offered -- which other one are you buying to use?

I'm going to wait until I can fondle one at my local store before taking the plunge, Dave. I want to check the feel and build quality. A few quick test shots are in order, too. Judging just from what I've seen and read so far, I'm 90% positive I'll get one.

I'm kind of 90% there but it all sounds too good to be true!!!!! If it turns out to be true I will be getting one myself. I loved my Fuji S9100 which I owned for 18 months... not loving all the issues I am having with my Sony D-SLR bodies.......

I don't preorder ... why? Are there only 99 pieces sold?

But I'll buy HS10 :-)
3x foldable rubber hood ($ 3.99) and pol filter ($5.99) I got from Hongkong, both 58mm, free shipping, within 6 days :-)

Now let's wait for HS10 .. countdown ... springtime comes ---> HS10 comes.

Default What am I missing ?

What are the benefits of pre-order ?
Is it a just an "I can't wait" thing ?
" Be the first kid on your block " ?

I would expect the price to drop a bit after the initial rush, not go up ?

Will the vendors run out and Fuji not make any more to fill orders ?

Don't get me wrong, I like the sounds of this thing enough to pre-order and have come close to pushing the button more than once....

I just don't see the rush ?

Please advise

Thanks

I have a feeling it could be a while before it drops

If the first reviews/pre-reviews are correct their is going to be a big run on the camera.... I am sure Fuji will make more

My Sony D-SLR bodies are having issues and I am looking for a replacement camera at this time and if you've followed my other threads I am looking at bridge cameras with built in lenses as the replacement type.

I'm on the fence on this as well. I saw the Nikon P100 drop in price, on Amazon and elsewhere, as soon as it came out--could be a promotional thing. But that camera was not very well reviewed.

I know from reading on forums, there is a huge interest in the Fuji HS10, so I'm not sure the price will drop. In any case, it can't go higher than $499 and I don't know if by pre-ordering we'll miss out on any discounts or lower price promotional offers that may come when it's released.

But my fingers are awfully itchy for this camera!

Yeah, I can't find the Fuji S200 at any local store in the Dallas area; I don't expect any to be carrying the HS10 when it comes out
