Default Fuji 2200EXR Question

I have been reading everything on Fuji bridge cameras I can get my hands on. I was reading how the new Fuji HS10 has a pro low light feature to capture better images at night and in low light. It states its the dame as used on the S200EXR. It mentioned something about combining multi frames in order to produce the best image quality with low noise.

Does that mean it will shoot off a burst of frames and I need to hold the camera very still for several sections? Does it work like shooting in bracket mode which means I need to hold the camera very still for 2 to 3 sections?

For those who have used this feature can it be used hand held or is a tripod required. Reason I ask is I shoot a lot of images in somehat low light, granted I use a flash at times but this sounds like a feature I'd want to explore and would use if its easy.
