Default Got mine yesterday.....

Here are a few from today. I like it so far - this camera replaced my lost/stolen Kodak DX6490, which replaced my Kodak DC280, which replaced my Pentax A3000 SLR (20 + years ago!) - I have a lot to learn (and re-learn!).

Hope these are posted properly.

Gary

Gorgeous puppies ....

So, what are the thoughts in the forum about using a 58mm thin-frame PL (polarizing) filter to protect the glass on the HS10 lens. If anyone is using a filter, which make/model to you recommend, and why?

Much appreciated!

I have been using a Hoya CPL. Not the thin, extra-costly one... just the Hoya CPL. Works just fine to cut through glare/reflection on a water surface or some glass shots. However, it makes the sky juuuuuust a tad too blue for my tastes. YMMV.

I will start reading up on the Hoya CPL. What type of memory card do you use, SD or SDHC and which class?

I am looking at the 58mm Hoya Multi Coat (HMC) Pro1 Digital UV Filter which I believe measures in at a 3mm thickness.

The boat shot was one of your best one from that group. When I read it was zoomed I'm like "gasp!"

Last one is nice.[/QUOTE]

Yes I zoomed all the way out to get that shot as a test. I was impressed with it as well. Haven't tested any shot with flash yet, I will need to do that one of these days/nights.

Also on my second set of batteries I was able to get closer to 500 shots, before the camera quit - the red low level battery light came on at 170 shots.
