Define "upload photos".

Do you mean copy photos from your camera to your PC? If so, are you using a USB attached camera and software of some type? If so, what operating system and software are you using?

Or, do you mean copy photos from your PC to a web site hosting photos or something to that effect? If so, what web site, and are you using software to upload them or are you using some function built into the web site that allows you to browse for images on your PC? What operating system and internet browser? Do you see any errors?

Your post doesn't give members much information to go on.

Hello,

No, I'm trying to upload photo's in a thread, they are JPEG's. I did it before, but today I tried it for more than five times. Everything seems normal, with an indication thet they are uploaded, but they don't show up in the thread. They simply disappeared.

Regards,

guus

Do you mean a thread in the forums here?

If so, make sure to see this thread on how to attach photos to make sure you're not missing a step somewhere:

http://forums.steves-digicams.com/ge...oto-forum.html

Make sure to see my comments in the second post in that thread, too. You should make sure that any photos you attach to posts here have been downsized to 1024 pixels or less on their longest side, and have a file size of no larger than 260,000 bytes (approx. 253.9KB) to prevent the forums software from trying to downsize them so they'll meet the restrictions set for sizes allowed in posts here. You'll see the allowed sizes when you are browsing for photos to attach to posts here (as shown in that thread on how to post images).

The forums software will try to resize them for you if they are not within the max sizes allowed (up to a point). But, if they're too big, they may not upload at all due to max sizes allowed for any attachments (and you really don't want the forums software trying to downsize them for you anyway, since a very high JPEG compression level will be used, resulting in significant degradation of image quality. So, I'd suggest making sure they're within the maximum allowed sizes for both file size and dimensions to prevent issues.

Wow, disappearing hocuspocus photos!

Take your card out of camera, insert it into a $0 reader, transfer them to PC.
With IrfanView make postprocessing, also smaller (800x450), load up to
666kb.com and put [img .../img] in your text.

If they dissappear then your neighbour woman is a witch.

Hello JimC,

Yes, that must be it. The filesize is getting too big. That occurred after the firmware-update. I have to downsize the files.
Thank you.

guus

I'm very pleased with the firmware-upgrade for the Fujifilm Hs 10.
In JPEG sharpening in pp is no longer necessairy.
I use Paint Shop Pro for pp. I noticed that an unprocessed photo is about 4 Mb now. If you do a little sharpening or something else (like adding the date) the filesize is getting much smaller, about 1.2 Mb.
This one has no pp, just adding the date.

guus
