Default how do i do it ?????

Hi all,
could some one please help me with my question.????
Please be gentle with me as i am very new to all this photography
thingy....
My question....
I am about to take delivery of my HS10,and have read up and seen some fantastic shots you guys have got with it.
When i saw the HS10 on QVC, they showed a picture of a lion that was behind a chain link fence.
But it appeared that the lion was in front of the fence done with a technique od de- focus (i think)
Can some one please tell (me in easy steps) how to do this with my HS 10 ??
Thanks,
Andy.

I'm sure it can be done but, if you're that new to photography, I'd suggest you concentrate on the fundamentals. Gimmick shots like that are cool but, who's to say they even shot it with the camera they're selling? QVC is not the most informed place. I'm guessing it was shot in Aperture mode focused on the lion and not the fence.

They are not gimmick shots as I have taken shots like that with just about any camera. Test it out with your camera and find that distance and zoom that will blur out the fence or bars from capturing your image. Each camera is different and it can be done.
