Default HS10 Flash Problems

Anyone else not able to get the built in flash to pop up? I can't find the button as listed in the one line manual to raise the flash. Where the button should be there is nothing to be found but a small hole. I am going to work with it and see if their is a recessed thingy inside the hole that might pop up the flash..... love the camera.... but need to be able to use the flash at night

Dave,

The button for the pop-up flash is pretty obvious. If you have a hole where the pop-up flash button should be, I would say you must have a defective camera.

Not if you want to use flash. You need the manual release button to raise it. I assume you are looking in the right place - it is on the front, top left (in shooting position, facing away form you), between the folded flash head and the strap lug.

I'd be shipping that guy back if all you have is a hole where the button is supposed to be.
