Default the noob :first time depth ....hs10

Well after a lil reading and seeing a dvd on photography ( 13dvds to go lol)
it thought it was time to play and see if i could manage to get the background blurry like you do inhere.

Its my first attempt.....and frankly i am pleased with it. I know there is still a long way to go but....started of nice......curious what you think of the 2 shots. To me the first shot has a nice depth....i looks as if the head really sticks out , the tail becomming fuzzy again and background blurry.

both shots were taken zoom racked out to max, handheld both in P modus.
DRset to 200 , photometry multi,AF center, AF/s, color high, sharpness hard.

perhaps a tripod would have made the pictures even a lil sharper...but then again.....i was taking the dog for a walk, and playing a lil with the cam.

LOL no need to. .....

My american bulldog is a lovely pet, socialized and gentle. Never had any problems at all........
His looks might scare people off, but he will own your trust within minutes. How can you be afraid of such a gentle smile

THx

No suggestions here. You're doing terrific! And yes, there are a lot of advanced features and it's so much fun experimenting with these.

I'd like to see him a little less "squinty" but, other than that, these are just fine. It all depends on what YOU are satisfied with. If they portray YOUR dog to YOU, it's a winner.

I think you did a great job achieving your goal - depth and background vs foreground. Nice job!
