Default Fun with lighting.

Someone on another forum suggested to use backlight on one of my flowers to make it stand out better. The natural light from the window was good today so, I gave it a try. I used a Cactus V2 wireless flash unit on a Vivitar 2800D. Aimed the flash unit parallel to the black velvet background. I set the unit for A2, ISO1000.

Natural light. No flash.

Natural light with flash.

Thanks, everyone! I couldn't believe the huge difference it made. You can bet it's a technique I'll be using again!

Could you explain what you mean by this? At right angles to your line of view? To the left? Right? Up?

Here's the set up. The velvet is angled at about 45 degrees and so is the flash head.
