Thanks -- this thread is now a sticky. From the link posted:

The firmware update Ver.1.02 incorporates the following item.

1. In Raw data a line is visible where colors slightly change when developed by Raw File Converter.

2. Battery indicator turns on too early.

3. When "Image Disp." in set-up menu is set to "Zoom", sometimes image corrupts.
It also points out improvements made in Version 1.01 if anyone is still running the original 1.00 Firmware.

Just did the update. One thing that bugged me before is still not fixed.

After taking pics in burst mode, if you click the preview to check the pics, then return to photo mode, the camera doesn't remember you were in burst. You have to reselect burst. This is very annoying because you cannot toggle back and forth between taking pics and reviewing them if you want to shoot in burst.

Another related bug -- I've setup my C mode to take burst pics, but if I preview pics while in this mode, it not only forgets the burst setting, but switching to a different mode (eg. M) and back doesn't bring back the burst setting. However, turning the camera off/on does. Weird!

This is a software issue and should have been fixed. Looks like the QA on this camera let a lot of problems through.

After new update ver. 1.02

1. The camera tend to off and On by itself during taking photo.
2. Camera unable automatic to switch to 1/60 second in force flash mode, it will switched to 1/30 or even longer time depending on the light condition.(unable to take photo with handheld in lowlight condition or moving object and over exposure)
3. Unable to focus when zoom to far end in video mode 640x480.
4. Often out of focus during indoor low light shoot with flash.

Anyone have the same problems as above ?

I am still new with HS10.

Hi there, I think that this upgrade has not helped with the low light focussing also, if anything worse than 1.01, although the release notes don't say anything about changes to that?
DD, Gjtoth, have you gents done this update & what are your thoughts?.
I will try a bit more (have only had limited chances to test it out so-far, but may drop back to v1.01???

I don't shoot a lot of low-light stuff, KD, and when I do, I use an off-camera flash. So, I can't be of much help. Overall, the u/g works just fine for me. I don't know that it's possible to drop back to 1.01 Let us know how you make out with that, will you?

Returning back to 1.01 is NOT possible, camera will not allow that.

It is possible to update (Downgrade) to 1.01 from 1.02.

Haven't tried to drop back to 1.01 firmware yet, still prefer to give a bit more time to be sure I am utilising the camera to it's best ability before trying something that may not work (or possibly be rejected by the camera)

I am still learning this machine, & overall I am very happy with it.
