Default Fuji 3800 Focu Problem

Hi all,

I have had my 3800 for almost 2 months now. I am very happy with the results. My main hobby is aviation and flying with friends. Altought the shutter speed is a bit slow I learned how to compensate to that with some tries.

Taking pictures of aircraft landing and departing are coming really great but lately I am having a problem on trying to focus on an area before the aircraft passes.

Can anyone tell me any trick of the trade in order to get AF before the object pass by so that when I press the shutter I will get a sharp picture of the aircraft?
