Default YIKES again... only better :)

I used a rice bag as my base and utilized the onboard flash for this one. I got right in his face. Better?

and what did you use? Camera, lens, Running shoes?

I think the very shallow DOF looks a bit odd - especially the front legs which are in focus halfway. You could try some focus stacking although I'm finding it a bit tricky.

Nice portrait Gary! Odd spider it is..

@ MartinSykes

Using the combo of HS10 and the raynox 250 is a delicate job. Quite often the ideal angle to the subject is far from ideal for using a tripod or anything; and animals tend to move; it's already a challenge getting 1 good shot (semi) handheld, let alone trying to take the exact same shot twice or triple at different focus settings..
