Default Black Swallowtail

A brand new Black Swallowtail. I was able to catch it in a few good poses before the wings dried enough to fly away. Thanks for taking a look....

There are a lot of swallowtails besides the Black Swallowtail that are black or have black phases and are confused with it, but this one is the real thing! Having the luck of being in the right place at the right time is part of it, but being prepared to take advantage of it is quite another. Very nice.

I shoot mostly with spot metering for brightest highlights which leaves me a little on the dark side with most images. Almost all shots require a "little" levels adjustment to tweek exposure and dynamic range.
