Cracking shots, Keith. The sharpness is almost painful. I'd love to know your procedure in taking the shots and post-processing techniqes. How about a mini tutorial from you?

Thanks everyone for the fine compliments,,, much apprecaited !!!!

spinning: My wife and I found the Monarch Chrysalis on a walk several days ago (see my previous post for photo of Chrysalis). The mowing crew had cut it down and we decided to bring it home.. It emerged in our backyard.

Wardonia: As you can see in my signature, my three cameras are rather old and so is my software. I shoot in JPG ,(20MB Raw files are slow,, slow,, work) , and process with PhotoShop CS.

I usually do a little "levels adjustment" for exposure and dynamic range.
Sometimes a little "color adjustment" for cool or warm touch.
I do "sharpen" one time on the full size image.
I size down too half size and "unsharp mask" 200% @0.2 pixel and 0 threshold.
I size down too 800px and "unsharp mask" again the same values.

That is my post processing technique,,for web posting,, rather quick and simple.. Hope this helps...
