Since I've had the HS10, I've become a regular moon snapper, albeit a little frustrated due to final image quality. I use a TCON 17 and usually bracket exposure at -/+1 EV on manual and 10sec delay, tripod and spot focus. I've tried HDR which can give some dramatic effects but look a bit unreal.

The full moon is about an hour old as I write and will be in transit just after midnight where I live in the centre of the UK. If there's a clear sky I'll be out there trying again. Killer is light and atmospheric pollution from a big city location.

This is a 'straight' pic of August's waning gibbous. 1/200 f5.6, ISO 400.

Finally, a break in the clouds.

Single frame 1/160, f8, ISO 100. TCON17. Tonemapped with Oloneo.
