Default HS10 firmware V1.03

There's talk of a version 1.03 update on dpreview. Speculation that it doesn't address NR issue or slow write times though.

That could be fixed only with a upgraded ( larger ) sensor
I have started living with my cam now.

What many would like to see is the option of turning off in camera NR. That could be done with a firmware update. There are aftermarket software programs such as Neat Image that would be far superior to Fuji's overly agressive NR which sometimes results in the infamous "smearing". I don't know if write times could be improved with a firmware update.
