Default A place unto its own.....

Some things in life you can really only appreciate firsthand, in person. You need every sense, and then some, trying to get your mind to comprehend exactly what it is you are looking at. Mount Rainer falls into this category. The shear size will humble you. The glaciers and ice fields, amazing. I'm not sure how many rivers find their roots here, but it is many. I captured one such glacier, and I will present it later, to give you an idea how a river is formed.
Right now I'm stealing time I need to put to WORK......so, I'll just share a few snapshots, hoping you get a feel of what I was blessed with....it was AWESOME!

A view from Paradise, still in timber and meadows. The top, not visible from here, but from where I'm standing, at around 6500 feet above sea level, it rises another 7500 feet or so.

The color of summer flowers, long gone, only the hardy ground cover left, but all of the life supporting fluids, retreating to their roots for protection of whats to come....leaving scarlet and crimson of what was once green.

Another view, as the melting glacier forms many streams and creeks....

And of course.....where you have mountains and water, you have falls.....
Just 2 of many.
