Default S3000 vs 5000

After looking through these threads and reading the review(s) on both cameras I'm really surprised how unpopular the 3000 is!

Giving the $80 price difference (at the end of '03) the 3000 seems a much better deal with it's larger LCD display and easier to use (I believe) control for the zoom. Granted it's silver not black and it's 6x instead of 10x (without a tripod 10x shots are hard to keep steady anyway) why isn't there more interest in the 3000??

Any 3000 owners out there?

Compared spec for spec, at only $80 difference, the S5000 seems to be a steal compared to a point & shooter.
